1. How do I book Rose to perform at my event?

Please use our Contact Form to request a free quote, OR:

call or text 312.248.4828 (if no answer, please leave detailed voicemail);

OR email info@rosebellydancer.com

Please include the following info in your request for a quote:

  • date, time, & location of your event

  • type of event (what is the occasion?)

  • approximate number of guests

  • performance area size, floor type

  • sound system (if known)

  • optional: any special requests, e.g. music preferences and/or number of dancers needed, if applicable

2. How long does a belly dance show last?

• A solo belly dance performance (1 dancer) typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes*, depending on the client’s needs, as well as the vibe of the crowd at the given event.  It is best for Rose to end her show on a high note, with the crowd’s energy up, making the performance more enjoyable for both the dancer and audience alike.

Also, please keep in mind that your guests will want their fair share of the dance floor to themselves, so Rose makes sure she never wears out her welcome!

Please rest assured that the standard 30-minute show length is based on tradition & many years of experience, and Rose will thrill your guests beyond their expectations!

Please note: Rose can often stay an additional 10 to 15 minutes for photos after her performance, if requested, for a total performance+photo session of 45 minutes.

*If you would like Rose to perform a shorter performance set (less than 10 minutes), please include this info in your request for a quote.

• A group belly dance performance (2+ dancers), however, may last longer than 30 minutes, if the client requests multiple dancers.*  It really depends on the specific event youre hosting, so please request a quote for more info.

*If youd like to book Rose (and/or addl dancers) for a show longer than 30 minutes, please include this info in your request for a quote.

3. What all is included in Rose’s show?

Rose’s shows begin with a dazzling intro to classic, Middle Eastern belly dance music, featuring an eye-catching prop, such as candelabra head-piece (shamadan),* veil, Isis wings, fan veils, veil-poi, or LED light-up wings or veil, depending on the client’s needs & preferences.

Rose then dances several other styles, including Baladi (traditional Egyptian), Saidi (cane dance), tabla (drum solo), and floor work (splits, back bends, etc.) to fun, traditional Arab music, as well as with finger cymbals to Shaabi (popular) Middle Eastern music.

The last several songs of her performance set will involve the audience; Rose invites guests (typically one at a time) onto the stage to dance with her for a bit, showing them some moves — but never forcing anyone to join her.  This is when she gives the guest(s) of honor a moment in the spotlight, if they’d like!

Rose primarily dances to Egyptian and Lebanese music, as well as Turkish, Iraqi, Palestinian, & Syrian music where appropriate.

*Rose is trained in the traditional Middle Eastern art of Zaffe/Zeffa (wedding procession), and would be happy to incorporate this special entrance with the bride & groom into her performance at your wedding if requested.

Please note, the use of props and the musical selections really depend on the specific event you're hosting, so please request a quote for more info.

5. What kind of equipment do I (the client) need to provide for Rose’s performance at my event?

Rose’s equipment needs are simple -- just a safe, clean performance area and a stereo, Bluetooth speaker, or sound system** that can get relatively loud, as the volume of the music enhances the show for both the performer and audience alike.  The client does NOT need to provide the musical selections for Rose’s show, as Rose will provide her own, crowd-pleasing & clean music, which she spends hours editing and crafting into a playlist specifically designed for your event.  She will also bring her own auxiliary cord (8th-inch/1.5-mm) and/or RCA cords to connect her iPhone to your speaker/sound system, not to worry.

Please note: if you (the client) are hiring a DJ for your event, please let Rose know so she can make proper arrangements with the DJ directly.

**If you (the client) do not have an adequate sound system, Rose can bring her own sound equipment, available at a low rental fee for the duration of her performance.

If you need this additional service, please include this info in your request for a quote.

6. Is Rose willing to travel to perform at my event?

Yes!  Rose primarily performs in the city of Chicago and the greater Chicagoland area, but is willing to travel across state lines or national borders to perform at your event, depending on her availability.  Please include the exact location of your event in your request for a quote so Rose can inform you whether she is available to travel there.

Please note: Additional travel fees (for travel time, gasoline, lodging/hotel, airfare, and/or taxi services outside the city of Chicago) must be covered by the client and will be included in the quoted price.

7. What kind of music does Rose perform to?

Rose will provide her own, crowd-pleasing & clean music, which she spends hours editing and crafting into a playlist specifically designed for your event.  She primarily performs Middle Eastern dance to Middle Eastern music, especially Egyptian & Lebanese classical music; contemporary Egyptian Shaabi (popular/ of the people) music; folkloric Egyptian (e.g. Saidi) & Iraqi Kawliya music; as well as Dabke music of the Levant (Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, and Syria) and some Turkish music.  Some, but not all, songs will contain Arabic (and occasionally Turkish) lyrics.  Rose can also perform to Greek music if requested.

Though her preference is to perform solely to Arabic/Middle Eastern music, Rose is open to performing to other genres of music upon request.  If desired, please include any special song requests in your request for a quote.

8. How can I see videos of Rose’s past performances?

Please see the Videos page of this site, or visit Rose’s FacebookInstagram, and YouTube channel to see regularly updated photos & videos of Rose’s performances.

9. Can Rose teach a class as part of her performance at my party?

Yes!  But please note, this must be established at the time of booking, well in advance of your event, as the price and timing of this type of show/class-combo will differ from a normal belly dance show.  This class-and-show combo*** is a great option for bachelorette parties, girls’ nights, etc.

If desired, please include which of the following options you are interested in in your request for a quote:

• Option 1: First Show, Then Class: First, Rose will wow you and your guests with her artistry as a performer (15- to 30-minute belly dance show), take a bow, and take a few minutes to transition into class mode.  This means she will pause the music, explain posturing for proper dance technique/injury prevention, and then turn on her class playlist and teach you some moves!  This formal class will focus on some of the basics of Raqs Sharqi (“Belly Dance”), Dabke, and/or any other Middle Eastern dance of your choosing, usually for a minimum of 30 minutes (teaching time), or up to 1 hour.

• Option 2: First Class, Then Show: First, Rose will teach you and your friends some of the basics of Raqs Sharqi (“Belly Dance”), Dabke, and/or any other Middle Eastern dance of your choosing, usually for a minimum of 30 minutes (teaching time), or up to 1 hour.  Then, she’ll quickly change into her costume and soon return to wow you with a beautiful Middle Eastern belly dance show for 15-30 more minutes!

Option 3: Show-Class Hybrid: First, Rose will wow you with her artistry as a performer for the first 15 minutes of her belly dance show.  Then, without skipping a beat or pausing the music, she will have all of the guests interested in learning join her in a circle for the last 15 minutes of her playlist. Rose will teach you and your friends some of the basics of Raqs Sharqi (“Belly Dance”), Dabke, and/or any other Middle Eastern dance of your choosing, and then you can all take a bow with her!

***Would you rather have Rose NOT perform, but instead just teach a private group class to you and your friends in the comfort of your home or a nearby location of your choosing?  Please indicate this on your request for a quote and see our Private Party Group Classes page for more details. ***

10. How do I book more than one (1) dancer for my event?

Please note: The number of dancers depends on their availability; the sooner you contact Rose about hiring multiple dancers for your event, the better.

11. How far in advance should I book Rose?
